Artists

Clem Brown is a multi-instrumentalist and would-be producer from Fall River (Trio for Iser and Other Hits is the eighth album on which he has labored). He's played bass with numerous groups including Rufus and the Moondogs, Hot Rufus, the Nick Mook Trio, The Future, Swamp Road, the East Bay Jazz Ensemble, The Horse's Mouth, and funny little planet. In addition to bass, Clem plays rhythm guitar, keyboards, and percussion, and occasionally hazards a vocal.

Matt Brown: electric guitar fiend, mandolin and ukelele specialist, basso-voiced entertainer and bon vivant, founding member of Rufus & the Moondogs, the Usual Suspects, and the Brown Brothers, among other bands; Matt is a former resident of LA and London; he’s now a Maine-iac.

Gary Farias is our most famous contributor, a vocalist, guitarist extra-ordinaire, and songwriter, with a background in Rhode Island, southeastern Massachusetts, and Nashville. Past and present member of many local and national bands of renown, Gary is an active performer as a one-man band and has released four albums under his own name. Often referred to as “the maestro”, he is descended from local country-music royalty.

Jim Diotte is a drummer/multi-instrumentalist, a prolific composer and producer, and a designer. His extensive and excellent body of work (36 albums worth!) can be explored on bandcamp. His latest album release is Misinterpretive Dance.

Christopher James Farias is a Rhode Island singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer with an R.I.C. music degree (i.e. he's educated, unlike the rest of us musical hooligans). Check him out on Soundcloud, YouTube, and Facebook. He currently performs with the group Virginia James with Alicia "Virginia" Farias and teaches guitar. His latest album is After the Storm Clears.

Helen Brown had the misfortune of marrying Clem Brown, but it hasn't hurt her singing voice at all. She has spent most of her life saving lives (as an RN) and also creates quilts.

John Toste is a singer/songwriter/guitarist with a Rhode Island, LA, and U.S. Navy background. Another founding member of Rufus and the Moondogs (among several other groups), he is now lead vocalist and lead guitarist for the group funny little planet.

Mike McKenney, a singer/drummer/percussionist of all parts hereabouts, Mike has been a member of more bands than you would care to count (including Rufus & the Moondogs and funny little planet). He is friend to all music lovers and is the cut-up and fighting spirit of any group he graces.

Bruce Gavin is a long-time local rocker, folkie, and proponent of jug band and bluegrass music; as a vocalist, guitarist, and mandolinist, he always means business. He has played in bands with all of the previously-named suspects.

Anon is a veteran and inspired composer and producer of his own music, and is always ready to add distinctive creative elements to the music of others. He's also a visual artist, potter, architect/builder, horticulturist, and astronomer, among many other things. A true Renaissance Man!

funny little planet is a three-piece rock band of veteran musicians from the Rhode Island area; for more information, see their dedicated page.
